I’m Dr. Amanda Galliton, a high school librarian and adjunct professor at Louisiana State University and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. My work brings together teaching, school library leadership, and a love of young adult literature.
I bring more than 25 years of experience in education and hold a master’s degree in library and information science and an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Learning Technologies.
Across classrooms, libraries, and online learning, I help students evaluate information, develop their ideas, and apply what they learn. I also collaborate with educators, develop curriculum materials, and provide professional learning that connects research with everyday teaching and library practice.
My research explores how teachers and school leaders perceive the role and value of school librarians. Through my writing for Knowledge Quest and service in state and national library organizations, I contribute to conversations about library practice, leadership, and advocacy.
